Re: Astro's GG-0351 coupe build - update...

Good progress mate.
I like the engine bay and kinda wish Id painted mine the body colour.
Not sure how that would have gone down with our S.A. rego nazis though.
My satin black engine bay always looks dirty.

Its getting closer.
Well done.

Re: Difference between 66 and 67+ steering boxes

So how hard are they to rebuild ?
Is it a complicated job or something like a weekend have a go type person could handle ?
How many hours ?
Any specific points to watch for ?

Re: Difference between 66 and 67+ steering boxes

Chop: yes I have some slack in the steering box. I remember adjusting it before I put it in the car, and from memory if I adjusted any further I ended up with a tight spot. Im at the same point. I've got some overtime coming up.. maybe I should just bite the bullet and install a flaming river one. ...

Wondering why u want to renew.
Do u have loose steering ?
I have about 1-2" and was thinking about what to do about it.

Re: holley vacuum

I could never get the electric choke on my 570 working correctly. It kept coming back on after the engine was warm. I tried all sorts of adjustments. Its now cabled tied off permanently.
I find I dont really need it anyway.

Re: Brake light switch '65 '66

While they fit and work, just watchout for any sensitivity issues. 67-68 assisted drum is different 67-68 assisted disc is different again. I found this out the hard way. They should include a new switch in disc brakes conversion kits. Not leave u to figure it out on ur own . :argh: :argh: :argh:
