Re: hybrids 1966 Coupe Project

I don't think those brackets would be legal unless they aren't welded. I'm about to replace the brakes on my coupe with a wilwood kit. The old ones are a "big brake" kit, but one of the brackets has broken because it was welded. You don't have a mate who does CNC as well do you? I s...

Re: Fitting electric steering assist

I went with an electric pump instead.

The main reason I pulled out of it was the bracing that would be required under the dash for it to be safe.
Fine for a project car, but not ideal for a car that's already on the road.

I still have the bits here. Maybe one day.

Shorter throw shifter?

I bought one of the consoles that slides over the top of the factory console because it just has no storage to hold phones, garage openers etc. However after putting it in, it kinda interferes with the shifter and I think it's going to bug me. Has anyone put a shorter throw shifter on a top loader o...

Re: hybrids 66 fastback

We got the historic rego!
It took 3 months after buying the car, but we finally got there.
Just some final touchup work to be done now like getting the rear seat latches sorted.

I've been given some free pacemaker headers as well that I might put on it eventually, but no rush there.

Re: hybrids 1966 Coupe Project

While I wait for the new engine to be built, I've made another set of the adjustable engine mounts in our TechZone since I gave my other ones away. I found a mob who watercut the plates for ~$170, which is not much more than it would have cost from the China contact I checked with. You could get the...

Mustrack - Sub Users are coming

Soon via the app and website you will be able to create your own Sub Users. A Sub User will be able to view your trackers, but will not be able to make any changes to them. So if you have a tracker in your wifes car, or you have a fleet and want others to be able to view them, you'll be able to do t...

Re: hybrids 66 fastback

Got the blueslip for this one yesterday, so just waiting on the club to do their thing now to get it on conditional plates.
Next up will be to fix the fold down seat when Kerry gets back from O/S.

Re: Muffler recommendation

I'm a big fan of my varex. With them closed, it's nice a nice level. And when you want to be a h00n, open them up and they are straight through.
Obviously much more expensive than regular mufflers though.

Re: hybrids 66 fastback

Been doing some little bits and pieces on the fastback. The purists are going to hate me more than they already do :poke: I put a pertonix 3 unit in it to get rid of the points. The "coolant leak" ended up being that the top tank was blown open. It was only a tiny 2 row anyway, so I've put...

Re: 65-66 vs 67-70 fold down seat latch

Will do Kerry!
Fastback is not registered yet - need to have a look at the brakes, and the hardtop has a blown engine, so it might be a visit in a boring Ranger!

Might be a good chance to test 67 bits as well if you have both.

Re: 65-66 vs 67-70 fold down seat latch

Yeah though that could be because there is a slight difference that would lose you a national show.
For example, you can see that the levers are different.

But for someone like me that just wants it to work, it would be fine.
Maybe I need to be the guinea pig.
