What I would do in that case is go 9.5" with a 5" back space. (Check that you still have at least 3/4" clearance to the inner arch) Then you can use a spacer to tweak it a little to get it sitting where you want. Spacers are commonly used but technically illegal so you make your own ...

Bas, as you are running the same wheels as before with no clearance issues then a 4.5" backspace is still ok. Your wheels now are 8" from memory? If so then a 17 x 9 with a 4.5" backspace will fit easily. The inner will sit exactly where it is now & the outer will sit where it wa...
