I noted that Jacko is on the home page linked below. He was certainly busy with community service in his life.

Re: Edz 66 Convertible
Caltrac bars. I'm thinking of replacing my old ladder bars with Caltracs because the U-bolts hit the chassis rails at the front and they are not really doing their job. Has anyone got any negative feedback on using Caltracs? https://i.ibb.co/9gg3pmJ/Caltrac-Comp-engines-643-posted-542-post.jpg Or d...

83mm from outer edge of star to outer edge of star.
Ford used the same hydraulic block for years and my measurements were taken off a 67, 68 & 69 stampings I have (I kept all VIN stampings from sections I had purchased in line with US laws)

Updated opening post. Sorry if it is rough, but like how you all feel, it is still very raw.

Vale Ian Jackson (Ausjacko)
We lost Ian Jackson (Ausjacko) yesterday (11/09/21) to a massive heart attack. Ian was working on his E Type jaguar when he fell ill. Heather got him to the hospital, but he passed away there. Vale Jacko I have been sitting here the last few days, listening to music online while trying to get my hea...

Exactly. Only the rear section where it drops down is different on the fastbacks to the hardtop.hybrid wrote:You can possibly graft some of the new fastback drip rails on to that section if needed.

Re: Rusty 66 Coupe
You'd have to drill out all of the spot welds from the drip rails, including all the ones under the roof skin. Kerry's probably done it before 🤔 Quite a few actually :D Reality, the fastback drip rails are easy to modify to suit. Hardest bit is the terrible roof panel as the last one I saw was in 3...

Re: Rusty 66 Coupe
Nice work and thought process. I like the build method and thinking of future issues. I like stuff to be "mechanic friendly" like routing exhausts so they don't need to come off to do other jobs (like changing a transmission) and allowing parts to play a role in doing more than one job (li...

3M 08116 panel bonding glue.
The gun is expensive.
If you have an air operated adhesive gun, you can use Sikaflex 252, you will also need the primer (269 from memory) available at Bunnings.

Re: fan shroud
Not sure you have the question right. The shroud should be sealed to the rad so the fan pulls all the air through the core. The fans being electric (I assume) would be part of the shroud? If not, the fan should have half the blade (seen across the shroud) visible.
Hope that makes sense.

Correct. I glue the top in.
On the early cars 64 1/2 - 68, I usually glue both halves in.

That is something that hybrid or gbx78 could answer. My knowledge was limited to knowing they fit in the tunnel.123abc wrote:whats involved in going to and aod
