Just went and checked the left rocker cover... The outer rear bolt turned in probably a full turn or so. Maybe that is it! I think my story will be something along the lines of.... I found the rocker cover bolt was loose and think that was leaking down the back of the block. I have tightened and wip...

Nope, you simply go in to the Dept. of Transport, fill in a form, make a donation to their income revenue stream, get a small receipt and take that number back to the inspector.

What is a mod permit? PS: Obviously modification but does it mean an engineers report or is it a less exhaustive (ha ha) report? Odd for extractors - never heard that before. Spot on there Dave... It is just a legal requirement due to a deviation from the original engineering design of the vehicle....

Couldn't agree more Ash... I have crawled underneath and found the transmission modulator was somewhat less than figure tight so nipped that up. Just bought some lock wire so about to crawl under again and check the oil leaks again then lock up the caliber bolts That should be it for tonight... All ...

I must have taken 50 cars over pits from my time at Salva's and Frank's and never once asked to produce a permit for extractors. As for the weight, they would just ask and I would quote a spec sheet in lbs and they would convert to kgs. I guess each inspector has their own interpretation of the req...

Started her up to warm it up and waited for my other ride to turn up and follow me over to the inspection place. It drove really well but still needs a bit of a tune up for cold running but once war...
