Re: Mike's 68
Well, I think I have done pretty much everything that I can now for the big day tomorrow. The project is booked in for first thing in the morning so will be dropping it off at 08:00 then hopping the train in to work for the day. Unfortunately my NPD order did not turn up this week which is really st...

Re: Mike's 68
Thanks Nassi, but I think the dragways are slightly different to the hustlers - just had a close look of the rims in that pic and it looks like they have no centre cap mounting point.
I guess though, as a complete set of rims they would all match and be a cheap option.
Cheers

Re: Mike's 68
Spacers are not legal unless fitted by the OEM according to NCOP11. From a practical standpoint they are fairly commonly used and hub centric designs with a centering spigot to match the wheel inner bore would be preferable. If the casting is the same between all four wheels, so their is sufficient...

Re: Mike's 68
Thanks for the offer Lee... I wouldn't be a real fan of using a spacer long term, even though I am not really a burnout King kinda guy! I know full well that they would be practically safe but nevertheless they are illegal. My concern about machining the rim to correct the depth (thickness) of the h...

Re: Mike's 68
COMMENCE RANT! DAMN IT I say... DAMN IT!!! Been thinking about the longer term solution for my wheels. Way way back I procured a set of Hustlers from a local mustang fan. The price was right and the rubber was ok however having had them in storage too long without the proper protection you can guess...

Re: Mike's 68
Wheel alignment done!
Feels quite a bit better now, as expected. Has positive caster now and was 17mm out of whack on toe. Camber wasn't so bad but still required some adjustment.
Crossed another item off the list!

Re: The Duggo ranch Fergy fixup ........
Yes they built a few alright, The Coventry factory alone was responsible for more than 500,000. The little buggars are everywhere, Sir Edmund Hillary even took 7 of them to Antarctica. Very practical utility vehicle, I put it up there with the DC 3 and the UH1H choppers. Just love the sound of the ...

I hadn't actually followed up on that Nassi... Just figured I wanted to convert them anyway so didn't worry about it.nassi wrote:Very well done Mike, why weren't the marker lights working before? I am sure you had a problem with them.
Good result all the same.

Re: Mike's 68
Cross another item off the list... Just modded the side marker lights to function as indicators. This was a very simple mod by using my old wiring end connectors from the original side marker lights and front valance parking / indicator lights. I kept a few inches of the original wiring on the conne...
