David,

sent you a more detailed description of rebuilding the ram from a manual I have. I followed this and all seemed very good.

Great work, always good to learn to do this stuff yourself as you will no doubt have to do it many times.

Re: Bad Pinging

I did not see any mention of vacuum advance but may have missed it. I played around with my 351C for months after whacking on a new vac advance. With only mechanical no problem but I could not dial out the vac advance to stop pinging. symptoms very much as you describe here much worse with hot engin...

Re: Where to buy mufflers from??

The 40's are significantly loud! I swapped mine out for DeltaFlow 50's to try and reduce the noise and drone on the road. Certainly better although still loud..

Re: re-upholstered seats and seat foam

Kerry, it is like the spiderman light in Gotham City, just mention you in the post and 'whammo' response! Be interested in how you go with TMI. I guess i would need to compare the foam to the MUL one i bought to a TMI or ACI foam and see if there is much difference. Mine don't seem to have compacted...

Re: re-upholstered seats and seat foam

Thanks for replies so far , waiting for Kerry :-) Yes thanks Mike, I removed the old stuff :-) I am an older dude myself so I should fit the original seat no problems then! I just noticed a few other forums suggesting the 'quality' foam manufacturers were the way to go but nobody really mentions why...

re-upholstered seats and seat foam

one for you guys who have re-upholstered your seats. I bought seat upholstery and foam from Mustang Unlimited when I got the car a couple of years ago. I re-upholstered the seats and they look great, however I find the ride height seems to be at least an iinch higher than anyone elses Mustang I sit ...

Re: Stainless exhaust question

Thanks as always Kerry, Hmm, can I say sort of :-) I bought them all at different times, the x pipe assembly is slip on or weld. I think you advised to weld previously but I probably did not ask the right question ! I was wondering whether to worry about cosmetically the resonators and reducers bein...

Stainless exhaust question

So after placing a few orders over a bit of time I have ended up with 304 polished collector/reducer and 304 polished resonators along with a 409 stainless x-pype kit. Getting slowly ready to actually put them on at some stage when enthusiasm hits again. So do I get the 409 x pype polished or just w...

Re: Sound proofing

I did something similar to Pete- bought off ebay locally. Think it was better and reduced heat a little. what i found was areas I did not think of like inside the door made the biggest difference. I just used a soundproofing foam from clark rubber in the doors and some areas of the boot and that was...

has anyone used Pypes Exhaust Clamps?

Hi ,

Has anyone used these clamps or have any experience with them? It is claimed that they seal well enough not to need welding, I like the look of them but only if they are really useful.
Any opinions welcome
