Re: 351W into 66 Stang
Thanks for the great advice I think I am going to try the Hedman Swap headers HED-88660. Blkpny can you confirm if this is the same part number you used? In other news I got a 351 Windsor today stripped it down.....Bad news is it has already been bored to 30 over and has a minor lip. I didn't want t...

Re: Motor build, opinions please.
All good advice, also make sure when you are putting your oil rings on the pistons that they don't overlap.

Re: 351W into 66 Stang
Bugger.Mate just sold a set of new ones in the box from an unfinished project
Yeah plugs might be scary. I am trying to work out if I can get a Victor junior intake manifold under the bonnet without a scoop.
Got a part number for some extractors and it seems 66 engine mounts are the go.

Re: 351W into 66 Stang
I can't decide bewteen AFR 205's or 225'S.
I like the fact that the 225's reduce torque down low due to low air speed and give back in the upper rev range. should help my driveline bewteen gears.
Going to look at a potential 351 block tomorrow morning. Hoping it's a roller block.

351W into 66 Stang
Hey Guys
I am thinking about a stroker 351 Windsor (408) into my 66. Has anyone done this swap? From what I can tell it will be a tight fit. Looking for advice on engine mounts, Extractors, Bonnet clearence and so on.
Cheers

Re: 66 RHD conversion
Wipers no worries, still need to finish demister. Engineer checked firewall and rack set up. He will check demist operation when ready although he tells me Demisters where not required in 1966. I will just fit a vintage air heater box of some sort when I get time. I am not worried if the car does no...

Re: 66 RHD conversion
Yes car has to be Engineered, no big deal.
Conversion cost without labour including parts approx $3000.
I would recommend it to anyone. The car is so much nicer to drive RHD with rack and pinion.
I went the manual steering which I feel is perfectly fine for what I want to do with the car.

Re: TCP rack RHD
Steering rack conversion was the best thing I have done to my Mustang. I would recommend it.

Re: 66 RHD conversion
Initially yes, I was told to retain the car in an original state as possible. I will drop it for a twin master cylinder and balance bar later.

Re: 66 RHD conversion
Hi Scott The Engineer I use does not normally sign off these kinds of small projects. He has looked over the car. he is working on the paper work. But like you said I don't think the cert is really required. I was told to butt weld and weld from the inside of the car, retain original brakes and moun...

Re: 66 RHD conversion
RHD conversion finished...pretty easy job. Car seems to drive much better. I ended up doing a flat firewall and welding from inside. The dash was the worse part of the job and something I need to do a few touch up's on before final painting, I would even consider buying a RHD dash when they start st...

Re: 66 RHD conversion
Got Engineer sorted. got paper work filled in. Now onto conversion. I got a RHD kit from RRS (manual steer rack and pinion) . I have gutted interior and removed old LHD steering gear. I see how the dash needs cutting to swap sides. The firewall looks a bit more tricky. Does anyone have good clear pi...
