Re: C4 to AOD/E. Benefits?

I have an AOD in my 67 and love it. Changes are smoother than a C4 all except the change into OD and Out of OD, it's clunky. I build my own boxes and have installed many in Canberra. Lot's of people purchase the Silver Fox VB and are happy with it. I like their idea of a OD lockout controlled by a b...

Re: C4 Kickdown shaft won't turn

The C4 kickdown system is pretty simple. The lever sits against a spring loaded plunger and the level will only move one way around 30 degrees from just touching the lever to fully engaged. The other way it should bind on the inside of the case. My advice to you is to remove the sump and have a look...

Re: How much vacuum do you need?

Try it first before you spend. I'm running a stock bendix booster. These normally don't retain a vacuum with engine off. I have 10in of vacuum and was running out of brakes before the engine warmed up. Fitted one of those el cheapo vacuum tanks under the fender and my brakes are fine. Every car is d...

Re: Dumb question of the day

fitting another sender for a pressure gauge in a 69 Q code ATM. Not much room around the oil filter adapter in a PS AC car though, will let you know how I get on after I finish the house reno.

Re: Dumb question of the day

It's my understanding that 67 and 68 cars fitted with tacho did not have an oil pressure gauge. Minor gauges were Fuel, Temp and clock was an option.
