Re: 67 Diff width
Main reason I want to get it back to stock is for looks and choice of wheels. The way it is now I’ll have less ‘dish’ on the rear than the front which I won’t be happy with aesthetically. I’d like them to all look the same.

Re: 67 Diff width
I’m pretty sure it will just be 1in cut off each side, which will be perfect as I can keep all the brackets as they are.
Thanks for your help guys, appreciated.

Re: 67 Diff width
Thanks gents, Nuts, this is the post where i got my measurement of 59.25 inches, so seems like that's my lucky number. Wont only cutting one side offset my diff and pull the transmission shaft further out of the gearbox? I've already attached my bracketry to the new diff so i'll need to take the sam...

67 Diff width
Morning all, After a 4 year hiatus i am back on my 67 restomod. Want to get it finished before my second boy is born this January! I tried to search to forums but couldn't find definitive info. I had a modern diff in my 67, but its noticeably wider than the stock one so normal mustang wheel backspac...

Re: Nicks 68 Fastback restomod - wiring advice
I have a very similar setup in my 67 restomod. I have a 150 amp circuit breaker on the 4gauge positive cable running from the boot to the starter. Be very sure to put a circuit breaker / fuse on it, within 18 inches of the battery, as if you somehow get a dead short your car will go up in flames and...

Re: Wheel help
I called up Final Drive today to get a costing on them cutting my diff down. quote was $350 for the work and $850 for the new axles, so $1200 all up. I will take a look at what the wheels look like first before making my decision. $1200 is a fair bit at the moment, the wife will prefer i put that in...

Re: Wheel help
Thanks for all the information guys, and that link you posted gbx78 is really good, explains everything in easy to understand format with big pictures for dummies like me :) Looking at it, the quote talks about a +1inch offset, which going by everything i have seen since looks to be all kinds of wro...

Re: Wheel help
Know what Scott, borrowing 1 or two to test fitment might not be a bad idea at all and very kind of you. My diff is out of an ef so nothing would be better than to see it for myself.
I had a feeling the dish might suffer terribly with my diff choice.

Re: Wheel help
Yeah, what I meant was can I get wider wheels but I see what you mean, the physical dimension of the wheel arch and car haven't changed, only the backspace needs to adjust.

Wheel help
Afternoon all. I am just about to order wheels over the web, getting Foose Legend 17x8's with a +1 offset as recommended by the wheel sales guy at mrwheeldeal. This should be fine for the front, however at the rear I have gone a newer diff out of my donor falcon which is 1in wider each side. So does...

She drives well but we need to fix an issue with the brakes. The booster goes very soft when the engine is running. More pics soon.

Re: So what Engine do I go for?
Agree with Shaunp, fix up the brakes / transmission etc before you go the motor, coz once the motors in you wont want to stop it to fix these
