Re: 65/66 Mustang length without guards

I have a set of those but the problem is that the dock is a meter off the ground. So the issue is getting it up and in.

65/66 Mustang length without guards

Hi all, I need to get my unfinished mustang into a loading dock, sideways, however the roller door isn’t wide enough. If anyone has a 65 / 66 mustang in bits, can you measure from the radiator support panel back to the most rearward point of the car (taillight panel I think - when rear bumper is off...

Re: Project Pheonix

The box is likely in limp mode if you have disconnected the falcon cluster. I had a speedo fail in my old au Ute one day and it locked into limp mode.
My understanding is the signal goes from speed sensor to Custer, then from cluster to computer.

Re: Project Lil Blue Coupe

XC Barina/Combo/Corsa columns have the electric motor on them, and you can get the dial patch leads for those.

I’ve got a combo as a work van, heavy at low revs as I’m guessing they chew a heap of juice. Those things even have those big DIN batteries in them.

Looks fantastic!
What are you doing with the FG Shell? I'm guessing it's a stat write off? Would you sell any cuts off it?

Re: New Borgeson boxes are now one piece

Nope, my NSW engineer wants to see the welded box and some sort of certification for the welds. I should have waited the 14 months it's been sitting on my shelf to be fitted and bought the latest one :( Sell it off and buy the current production one? You might tear up a couple of dollars on that bu...

Re: New Borgeson boxes are now one piece

I am guessing that they saw it was a concern for customers, and have addressed it.

New Borgeson boxes are now one piece

Hi all, I emailed Borgeson regarding the welded mount on their integral power steering boxes for Mustang and if they could provide any certification on their welding. They have informed me that their current production power steering boxes for early Mustangs feature the housing and mounting plate as...

Re: New "old" Mustangs ......

It gives some great ideas for all of us. Looks good.

Isn't there a crowd in the US who 'rebuild' original bodies, maintaining an original vin number? That would be the easier way. But then it wouldn't be 'new'.

Shelby Drop Kit + Advice

I am looking to do the Shelby drop on my 66. Crazy, I know, considering the engine bay has already been painted, but the stoneguard has peeled off the outside of the inner guards and all the suspension has to come out to fix it. Is this kit worth buying, as it has the template and the wedges? http:/...

Re: Project Pheonix

You'll need to run the instrument cluster from the AU or emulate it somehow otherwise the transmission will lock into limp mode and the engine will have reduced performance.

The cluster failed in my au ute once and I had a 50k highway trip home. Noisy in 3rd gear ;)

Re: 69 CJ build and other cars

Awesome looking 69, such a tough looking car! I hope you get it back together one day!

As for the 66, such an innocent looking car, should look great with those parts in the engine bay. I look forward to seeing more!

Re: Diff shortening

I'm only going off the original post of 25mm per side, Kerry. I just did a few quick calculations on the AU diff width and the AU diff would be about 80mm too wide each side for a 66. XA - XF and EA- EL would be 45mm too wide each side I would think. I saw a ford 8 inch diff out of a compact fairlan...

Re: Diff shortening

Guy, Why not use the AU diff as is and use AU offset wheels on the rear. I think the later GT's run the same size wheels all round, 36mm offset on the front and 28mm on the rear, for a wider stance. If the diff needs 25mm off each side, that will be an offset of roughly 31mm on the rear wheels. Coul...
