Re: Paint process- bare metal then????
I've got a good quality full face mask and can get disposable overalls etc from work. I was leaning toward using 2pak but I'm not sure on what products etc work together

Paint process- bare metal then????
Hi All, I've nearly finished the underside of my coupe and am at the planning stage for paint and bodywork. Is Intergard the best primer to apply over bare metal and can it be used under acrylic or only 2pak? I'm not sure whether to go with 2 pak or use acrylic. What are the pros/cons of both system...

Re: Dems the brakes
I've still got an XF brake set up gathering dust in the shed and will separate parts if you want. I'm up near Toowoomba so freight may be a killer though.

Not Mustang- 40's truck body on modern chassis?
Hi All, a local farm has a half dozen or so 40's era trucks sitting in a paddock. I'm not sure of type could be Ford, Chev etc. There's also 70's jap utes everywhere locally sitting it paddocks. Can the older body be put on the later chassis and registered legally in Queensland? I've googled on can'...

69 brake light switch
Hi All, I've been doing some work on my nephews EF Falcon and the brake light switch looks very similar to the one fitted to the 69. The wiring plug is different and the spring tension is much lighter. Anyone used one for a power disc conversion before? My thought was using a common part available a...

Re: AOD Tailshaft Yoke
Yeah looks like cutting the unsplined section is the go. There is only 10 mm extra space beyond the splines in the box.
Thanks for the info guys.

Re: AOD Tailshaft Yoke
Good pic Hybrid. Also, just a comment, the photo of the two shafts look like the tailshafts are to short anyway. A lot of junk on the Yoke which obviously never moved inside the box passed the seal. Interesting you say that Boof, I've seen 50" quoted as tailshaft length for early Mustangs and ...

Re: AOD Tailshaft Yoke
From memory the problem I had with the XD conversion was the splines in the yoke weren't cut deep enough, which is the reason for the excess length beyond the seal on the short yoke. I'll try and compare how far the yokes go into both boxes and try the XB yoke I have as well.

AOD Tailshaft Yoke
Hi All, I'm gathering parts for an Aod conversion. I have a couple of Falcon V8 tailshafts lying around and found the old shaft from the AOD XD. For that conversion I used the stock XD C4 yoke and shortened the tailshaft by 1 inch. Comparing it to the Mustang C4 yoke there is a couple of inches diff...
