Re: Veterans Raffle for replica Shelby 67' Fastback
Not my taste in finishing either, and I did have a chuckle at the claimed $200K value, but by the specs should still be a fun car, and probably the basis for a nice 67' fastback restomod. And it’s a good cause. I just look at it as a worthy donation that might, in the remote possibly, get me somethi...

Veterans Raffle for replica Shelby 67' Fastback
Everyone seen this? A 67' Shelby tribute / restomod being raffled for Australian veterans welfare. Should be a fun car judging by the specs. https://www.raffletix.com.au/?ref=5tr89&sref=97cap4hb&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0L-t5ujd6QIVmx7VCh1b_AxTEAEYASAAEgLP9fD_BwE Tickets $25 each. Worthy cause. htt...

Re: Vitour GT muscle car tyres?
Interestingly some of the reviews compare them to the BFG roller skates. Much stickier than BFG’s they say, and their V rating is way better than the H or S on the big brand’s so called muscle car tyres (barring the butter soft Avons ZZ’s @ $600 each). So I’m thinking these VITOURs might be a good c...

Re: Vitour GT muscle car tyres?
Well lots of time on my hands, stuck in my hotel room on COVID lockdown. So I finally found some photos (albeit low res) of Mustangs with those VITOUR Galaxy GT tyres. Bad quality but heres one with the RWL out and one in. Nicely for me the one on the "in" is of a 68 running TT-D's, like m...

Re: Dumb question of the day
I think I can make the switch and gauge senders fit with the S code 68 even though its got PS and AC - but only just. There are some good little 1/4 NPT tees available that should make it possible. However as previously mentioned factory cars didn't have both, just 1 or the other. So a choice to be ...

Re: Dumb question of the day
Well I suppose if that’s the case, and I wanted both the light and the gauge, then I would need both types of sender fitted on a Tee piece and an extra wire to the cluster. (or just decide I don’t need an idiot light altogether). I have had it confirmed now, by the US concourse forum, what many here...

Dumb question of the day
So I guess this should be obvious but its slipped my mind somehow... My 68' 390 has a tachometer (with the oil pressure and alternator idiot lights in the bottom) and a factory type oil pressure gauge. So is there a type of sender (my cars OEM one is gone) that can signal both the the idiot light AN...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
Yeah I know. But he offered me the choice and I opted to wrap it around. As he mentioned he can easily trim the edge off later if I don’t like it. I do like it that way so far. But time will tell...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
So back home again and collected my décor wood option parts from Scott Williams at Slipstream Signs in Sunbury, VIC. I couldn't be happier with the result, (overhead console & door panels). Nice match for the other woodgrained parts (Instrument Cluster & dash inserts, etc), very flat and bub...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
The backing is just black vinyl. I’ve already entrusted the problem to a local car wrapper / sign writer who has done a few Ford woodys and woodgrain interior parts already. He has a nice woodgrain vinyl print with a laminated wood grain texture overlay that looks very nice. I’ll post photos when he...

Re: Sound deadener spray won't dry on sealer...
Thanks Kerry,
However I should have been fine as it was about 2-4mm thick and was on well over a week. More like 10 days. It is getting harder slowly, so I may just wait and see.

Re: Sound deadener spray won't dry on sealer...
OK. Well in my case it was fine over all the 227 sealer I used, except the most recent application inside the trunk around the rear panel support brackets. Just that part went gooey, the rest is just fine. Good be you really have to wait a long time for the 227 to be really cured hard before applyin...

Sound deadener spray won't dry on sealer...
Has anyone else encountered this before? I'm using Rustoleum's (Motospray) spray on sound deadener. Its been great in most places, almost replicating the factory stuff's appearance, and dries OK on the panels, etc. But I just noticed it is still wet where I have sprayed on top of some (not all) Sika...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
Well I received a short email response from Distinctive Industries today. Expressing little interest, just instructing me to talk to the retailer... As I bought these as part of a large order from Mustang Depot in Las Vegas, the best I'll get is probably I pay to ship them back to NV and they'll thi...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
So as I was choosing a walnut wood grain vinyl wrap for my overhead console I thought I would check the grain matches between my door panels and dash etc. When I opened my box of door panels from "Distinctive Industries", that I bought new from Mustang Depot just on 4 years ago I though gr...
