Re: Smog Thermactor hoses- where to buy/what to use

My 68 390GT auto had all the smog gear.
Have photos from the original owner.
Being a California car I thought it was mandatory.

Apparently the importer of the diaphragm rubber is in Adelaide.
Like you say, 'don't go trying it yourself! There is a big spring inside and you can hurt yourself'

Re: Brake Booster

Well done Mert. Good photos! Didn't know that it was that easy. In your bottom photo, the rubber diaphagm on the right is the one that usually stuffs up. My understanding is that there is only one supplier left in US that makes that part and they do not sell to the public. The two repairers that I s...

I read Chuck Yeager's book many years ago.
Fantastic story about the original 'Top Gun'.

I'm taking the booster out of mine for repair possibly tonight. It's a 68 auto. You're welcome to come look or I can take a photo and post it. (If I can remember my photobucket password?!)

Re: Restoring dash pad....

AA is no good for vinyl dash! Once you use it you must keep using it and never let the dash go dry or it will crack straight away. Not to mention the fact that it's a dust collector. It used to be petroleum based...think it's changed now, but I'm not willing to risk it. I used it as a kid on all typ...
