All console cars had the provision for the Convenience Group option. Only the pad was changed to cover the holes if it wasn't ordered.

That's the one. 4 clips on the back hold it in place and go into the slotted holes.

The flat spot sounds like the carb is not set up properly or needs rebuilding.

Rob, just to re-cap....don't run 12 volt if your still using the Mallory Unilite.

I strongly suggest upgrading the distributor and running a full 12 volts to the coil. Modern fuels do not combust like the leaded fuels long ago and you need a bigger spark to burn the fuel more efficiently. If tuned properly and with a graphed distributor, your engine will cold start easier and run...

Yes. Electronic dizzy will improve starting and performance but you need a 12 volt feed to the coil for it to work properly, unless you are installing a Mallorey Unilite which will work off the resistor wire already in your car (if it has the original loom). I had a similar problem with my C6. Took it out and arranged for a seal kit for it. Was told that it was the pump seal.

I made a bracket up and replaced one of the screws for the fuel tank and mounted it in front of the pickup. Plenty of room and easy to get to.

Richard you've got it wrong mate.
A Dec 66 Mustang is referred to as a 67.
In reference to your original question, a 67 manifold will fit on to your 68 block and heads.
