Hella Supertones

Post by hybrid »

I put airhorns on the Mustang originally, and put simply, they were shit.
So I started looking for something else that might scare the pants off anyone who might come anywhere near the mustang.

I found the hella supertones and decided to give them a try. I think I paid $55 delivered to my door.

First things first - I took them out of the box and they were big and very loud without even having any power connected.

Now because I pee standing up, they can't look like that, so out came the chassis paint.

I removed the grilles and gave them a few coats.

Much better.

Because my air horns only needed one wire, I had to extend the wire to the other side of the car. These REQUIRE a relay due to current draw, but the AAW kit already has a relay anyway.

They are fairly non-descript back there.

The verdict?
Well I gave the horn a tiny blast because I wanted to check if both were working.
The sound in the garage scared the bejesus out of me. They are freakin LOUD.
I have no idea if both are working or not. I'll take it outside and try again when my hearing returns.

I probably could not hear them anyway (especially if they have a female tone) ....... ;)
