Courtesy Door Light Switches

Post by Nick68 »

I went to install the courtesy door switches in my 68 fastback project on the weekend. When I opened the pack there were 2 very cheap and nasty looking white plastic switches. They had an unusual looking small 2 pin female connectors on the back. My questions are:

1) is there a better looking alternative? any recommendations on where to buy or what might fit a 68 mustang?

2) what are the connectors called that go in the back of the switches - do they have a name? any suggestions on where to get the pig tails?

Many Thanks
Nick

You might be able to use some earlier ones. Mine just use bullet connectors from memory.

You can get chrome ones that look nicer sold to suit a 65/66. They fit a 68 no problems.

Scott Drake has them, so you should be able to get them at any SD dealer.

And in the pic below, the chrome appears to come pre-chipped!

The chrome on those repop ones looks shit. I would paint the ones you have, then you can do it in any colour you like. They even have chrome look paint in a pressure pack that comes out better than that.

I recently purchased a set of chrome ones from ebay they were good, this is the link, looks long but I tested it and it goes there. otherwise I have a brand new scott drake white pair for sale, I actually have a few 68 parts that I purchased and didn't end up using including tmi custom door panels, bumper bars, gt exhaust tips, Shelby side scoops, cables, etc...if you are after any other parts give me a list i'll see if I have them. 0408511160
