Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
Fantastic event organised by Justin encourage any others to join next time. The fastback performed admirably without any issues. Photos will be up from my mate with a digital SLR in due course.
Clocked a best time of 46.99s which was not too far between a late model Jeep SRT8 and a couple of big dollar pro touring cars in mid 44s.
The tweaked stock suspension/steering chassis, disc brakes, mild 302/T5/Truetrac did the trick and was very well balanced and she handles very nicely.
THanks again for getting me there Denton/Booah.

Tell us when the video is up.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

Some video of the day
Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
haha that corolla is golden.
Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
Results for the afternoon. The winning camaro had 670hp, the capri had a supercharged coyote modular 5.4 with coilovers etc so we need better representation!
Me think my head/cam 302 needs to sprout some cubes and put some Yoki A050s on the beast to surprise those chevy clowns next time.

Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
Excellant effort Trav, must have been the extra voltage to the ignition that the alternator was providing eh?
Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
Definitely! Better charging system helped ignition. haha
Mate I was pushing that think hard as I could. It was feeling really confident out there brakes and suspension were great and composed. Chassis could definitely take a bit more power but needed a aftermarket shifter for the T5 so I could feel more confident smashing it through the gears/
Stock steering and tweaked suspension were superb supports the hypothesis that aftermarket suspension and steering are not required.
Remember to send me your details so I can reimburse you for the alternator.

Looks to me you did extremely well. No video of your run(s)?
If you really want to complete you will might be better off with a 351W based stroker. Having said that I really think you have done very well.

Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
Excellent result Trav but gee you must have felt lonely out there surrounded by all those bowties.
Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
That's why I don't want to take mine to the drags, trackday, or any other competitive day. You end up wanting moretrav68 wrote:

That's how I ended up with my stupidly overpowered escort.
Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
Sell your motor to Mike68 and start another engine build thread. ![Poke :poke:](./images/smilies/poking.gif)

Nassi - I was feeling a bit lonely. US Muscle forum seems to be Chebby Central and the source of the idea/event hence the attendees list.
Boof - Sorry mate I was in the process of sourcing a mates GoPro but then got distracted by alternator shenanigans!
Cats out of the bag now cant exactly say the car has only been driven to the church on Sundays. haha. But conversely its first sustained thrashing and it didnt miss a beat.
I am tempted (as mentioned previously) but would probably need to back a stout 347 or 408 with a better transmission as doubt the 6 cyl T5 would be up to the task...plus new exhaust no doubt. Scope creep is substantial. The car feels so light and sprightly with the little 302 upfront.
