I would imagine that you could get at least that amount off the insurance if you negotiate it well .....hybrid wrote:Yeah $180 for the year was about the best I could find. Down side is shelling out $180 in one go.

Re: New tracking website
I am not sure if it is because of the older sim I have or something else but my normal mobile is on pre paid plus 2 (I think)and I can recharge 20$ or $30 dollars at a time and if I do the $30 recharge it is supposedly valid for 6 months. I don't know if you can still get the same deal on a new sim or not.

Re: New tracking website
oh wow i didnt know there were recharge kits larger than $30/40 .. 180 a year isnt so bad. so what its the startup cost ? and do you get it from the telstra shop? and then do you just recharge for 180?

Re: New tracking website
Yeah I think you just get the sim which is a couple of bucks, then fill it up.
Should be able to do it all at the Telstra shop.

Re: New tracking website
I just checked and my current credit doesn't expire until June 2015. When I ring to recharge it did use to say my credit would expire in 1 month and then the next day I would get a text saying it expires in 6 months. Now it just seems to go out to 6 months but only if I recharge with $30. I do remember it was a fair PIA getting onto this deal after they changed them all and I kicked up a stink as I didn't want to pay $30 a month and not use all the credit. Just seemed like a waste of money and it was ten years back when I was a tight wad student.gbx78 wrote:Thats what I thought but I was reading the recharge expires in 28days..xpconnor wrote:I am not sure if it is because of the older sim I have or something else but my normal mobile is on pre paid plus 2 (I think)and I can recharge 20$ or $30 dollars at a time and if I do the $30 recharge it is supposedly valid for 6 months. Well F*&K ME some people are just plain DUMB!
I am on the phone to Telstra right now and they have ZERO idea about that recharge plan.
Can you provide any further details on where that is? I can't find it on their website and this chick sounds as "dumb as"!

Here is the link the chick finally got me to:
https://www.telstra.com.au/broadband/mobile-broadband/prepaid#acc-prices-australia
Price for the Mobile Broadband account is $200 for 12 gb for 365 days
I may have skimmed over the earlier posts in this thread and missed it but is yours a mobile broadband SIM or other?

Re: New tracking website
Mine is a mobile SIM.
Mike, you can't get to that page I linked to until you have an account with them. Thats from the "my account" section of my pre-paid account.

Re: New tracking website
I did hear that it was possibly going up to $200, but mine still says $180.
Not sure if that's because I have other bundles with them or something?
