IMO that leaves a fair bit of information out and only really addresses a couple of the issues.

So is there a block of information you can provide Hybrid?
I will someday think of something clever to say.

We have talked about the weak points here more than once.
I remember writing up the weak points and possible ways to address them based on a bunch of research I did when we built mine (3 times) and dads. I think it was in a thread somewhere, but can't remember.
There are definitely more important issues than the lack of clutches and weak input shaft that they mention.

Edit: actually it's in the tech shop

Just read the tech article and looked at the parts shop. Wow confusing web page and shop - so many options not sure what you would order. Then there is the Valve body options are many as well. All interesting though.

Yeah we were talking about the yank businesses and how crappy a lot of their websites are. You need to know what you are looking for there.

Boof just buy what Hybrid has now , he has had his a part a few times now so he should know what fixes them.

I said something along those lines at Steves shop today.
Mine doesn't have all the stuff done to it.

I'm not using the AODE drums in mine, but it should still be OK for 600HP or so as-is.

Cage has one that he will eventually build up. Maybe we can actually do a video on it like I wanted to do with mine.

In a way that was what I was trying to establish but backing the document with the parts list provided by the poor website is not such as easy job. Maybe a list that matches, e.g., buy kit XYZ plus kit ABC from this provider and this VB part no GHF from Silverfox.

I can do that if you think it's better, no worries.
I guess when I wrote the doco, I didn't want to specify which parts to buy from who.. more about just the weak points and how they can be fixed.

I didn't want to say "these are the part numbers you should use to build your box".
Reality is, I'm just your average Joe that did plenty of research and has built these boxes a little more than a few times now.

I guess I was trying to avoid someone coming back saying "I built this box using the parts you told me and it couldn't handle my 800HP engine!".
I simply don't have the experience to back it all up, even though the parts I used in my own box came about through a whole bunch of research.

A good example is that some people don't think you should bother using the Alto Red Eagle clutches and Kolene steels. I put them in mine because my clutches needed replacing anyway.

I understand your point. I was looking for budget reasons as well. Leave it for now. I will continue this with you if I decide to build up an AOD.

I am happy to start building mine up with Hybrid if you like Boof.

I think that you following Hybrids advice and suggest direction for your AOD is a good choice. If it can be documented then all the better,.
