ates up and down a little bit put a new speedo gear on the cable for the t5 now at low speed the needle works but it kinda vibrates up and down a little bit upto about 40 mph

NO but it wasn't doing it until the new 17 tooth gear was put in its identical except for it being shorter

Normally the problem is binding of the cable - to tight a turn can be a cause.
I will someday think of something clever to say.
