Re: Scarlet
the first spring was easy as the coils were separated slightly.. the second spring they were all touching so i pulled it open a touch but because i had to move it then depressed and the paint touched went all funny and tacky and i swore alot.. then it started to rain.. fk you man .. fk you!!! *shakes fist to sky* .. oh well ill pursue with it .. it looks ok maybe one day ill powder-coat them if that wont affect them.boofhead wrote:Wow - very cool. Worth the effort I think, looks great. Far more important job then a fuse for the alternator.

Wow what a difference just a coat of paint on the springs looks on the over all finish of the hinges, just makes them POP!

I used this finish on the interior trim but was new to it then and didn't come out as rich as these. Love it.. glad i was peer pressured into it.scott66stang wrote:Wow what a difference just a coat of paint on the springs looks on the over all finish of the hinges, just makes them POP!

Re: Scarlet
Here is the second spring. . Didnt come out as clean as the first one..but hopefully shows the colour a little better.
Im running out of mods. . But i can say vht have come up with the goods for my build. Wrinkle paint..anodized base and colour coat..and the hi heat exhaust paint which is still intact on my headers and looks good.

Because ive had some trouble sourcing rad hoses for my set up. I might copy hybrid with some fancy stainless steel ones at some stage.
I have a list of things i should do but they are boring

Re: Scarlet
I have that same budget.. imagine that!
Still... I've been able to do a supercharger, cold air, new radiator on that budget.
I'm sure Cage can give you some tips as well seeing as he did the $600 347.

- Water/Methanol injection system - controlled by ECU.
- Air con Idle up ECU modification and wiring
- N2O port system. ECU modifications for input and relay output.
- Second Paxton
- A wipple SC on top feed by the two paxtons so we have 3 superchargers on your 302
- 363 build. (other options 408 (since you have a 351 in the back yard), or simple 347 on your current block).
- AODE/4R70w controlled by MS controller so fully programable gearbox - so set all the shift points.
- Larger rear wheels to fill the rear guards
- Integrated Video output with ECU guages built into the dash or floor console.
- Design a new floor console now that you have a setup you likely have improvements you would like.
- Add a roof console.
- Sell a left testicle and kidney and play more gigs to pay for it all.
- Build another Mustang (his and hers)

Nothin new in there from my current boring list cept the Roof console. Roof consoles dont interest me. The aod..maybe one day if i break mine.. really really love this valve body.. theres alot i can do and adjust with it or just run it manual valve if i remove the TV cable completely... oh and would be right testicleboofhead wrote:- Water/Methanol injection system - controlled by ECU.

Re: Scarlet
OK how about
1) get a second 302 mount it in the back seating area and install the engine with a Porshe boxes front and back so you can have 2 302 engines one driving front wheel and one driving the back wheels.
2) What about installing a 4 wheel steering system say from a GTR/GTS
3) If not the rear engine how about MadMax fuel tanks - it would be original
4) How about a mural painted on the side like "On the 7th day God created Scarlet".
5) Fuel (diesel) injectors mounted into the ends of the exhaust with an igniter so above 40% throttle fire flys out both sides of the cars exhaust pipes.
6) A gear drive for the camshaft instead of the chain so the engine actually sounds like it has a supercharger.
I will keep thinking.

Re: Scarlet
performed this mod to megasquirt today .. we all knew it was coming.. and works well.
well ..ok.. mainly used some of this circuit for AC idle up. As it heats up the aircon is being used more and more. This mod was on my the list of things to do but never have the time as Im too busy taking pics at euro foam parties.. cause thats what you do in 40deg australian heat.
Drawn out and planned for the board.
This mod uses the PE0/JS7 input (im using one of my DB15 pins for the circuit) from the AC to trigger the circuit. It quickly increases the idle (as defined in the settings) when AC is triggered rather than waiting for idle air to slowly bring up the idle under load.
Thanks to boof for the assistance here and raising that the option and mod exists, pointing me in the right direction with doco and some understanding. Tested today and it works really well and as expected. Pretty happy.
So laid it all out and ready to go..
Assembled
CPU mod
Settings:
I keep staring at the 351W sitting out the back. Curious to know whats sitting inside as it has some interesting aftermarket goodies already bolted on, watch this space. Might be good to start working on it for a new project or something to keep my mind off other things going on.
