Re: Edz 66 Convertible
quote="ozbilt" Park brake running through the box is standard on the later first gen cars.
The center plate is 5mm stock and exhaust pipes fit nicely above it. /quote
So mine must be earlier 1st gen, I might relocate the handbrake cable like the pic. 5 mm hmm, I'll see how much room there is going to be for an exhaust, most people seem to have trouble fitting a 2.5 in dual system through with the standard plate in place. My exhaust guy wants the plate sorted before he runs an exhaust. Your exhaust seems to fit well ozbuilt. Nice chassis kit too, if you don't think is helps I won't rushout and fit a similar one.
Currently working on my brakes, dropped in to work tonight (just up the road) to machine some ply down to 10 mm to make dummy brackets so I could redesign them to drop from 3 to 2 brackets. Silly boy decided to cut the stub plate hole with a 70 mm holesaw into a small piece of ply holding it only with my hand and it grabbed the wood and spun, crushing my thumb, ouch, now it's all swollen up. The black is not dirt, it's bruising!
Cleaned up the calipers before paint using the garnet blaster at work, a shot before and after:

Re: Edz 66 Convertible
This is the final caliper plate and semi final stub plate (need to move the two holes a bit since I moved them on the other plate), all that's needed (with 2 spacers) to bolt BF calipers on with the 322 mm discs. Now I'll make them out of wood to check them before cutting them on the water jet.
Only got 2 hours sleep last night, going to the doc because my thumb definitely looks and feels broken, oh well, slow day at home to work on the car! A slow day at home is better than a fast day at work!

Re: Edz 66 Convertible
I am liking this thread, plenty going on. Love the reason you bought a 65/66 due to the rear viewing being better.........it's a convertible. ?

Re: Edz 66 Convertible
As a former lacrosse goalie that has has broken his thumbs way too many times ... to stop me knocking my broken thumb while sleeping I used to tape an old toilet roll filled with cotton wool around it. Just trim the roll so it fits down nicely over the whole thumb to wrist section.

Re: Edz 66 Convertible
So Gumtree worked again, had a guy talking to me for the last 3 weeks about buying my old motor to fit to his 65 Mustang. He flew from Balina to Sydney Friday night and drove up with a mate yesterday morning. Took the 351W, cam, roller rockers, alloy heads, cam chain etc for $5k which means the swap over to the 408 crate motor with alloy heads and roller cam cost me $4k. I'm wrapped. I also didn't have to reassemble the motor as he's getting it honed and fitting new rings and bearings. So all I have to get rid of now is the C6.
My brake guy is turning up today so all new brake-lines are going in then it's motor fit-up time to get the headman headers to fit.
