I'm trying to get my car registered and need to get it engineered under VSB14 which means fitting retractor seatbelts to all positions.
The front are already done, but the rear aren't. I can't see how you can fit a retractor without removing the canvas top and modifying the seat to get clearance around the retracter unit.
Has anyone done this before?

No parcel shelf on a vert?
Re: Help - Fitting retractable seatbelts to a 66 convertible
Talk to Matt (MNT67) as he fitted them to his vert. Pics are in his build thread "Years in the making"

Page 14, I was just going through his build thread looking for ideas for my car.

Thanks for that guys. I'll check the build. Yes Hybrid, no parcel shelf, just a vertical panel, the roof folds into the void where the parcel shelf would be.

Okay, I checked that build. but it's probably not going to work unless a 67 is different to a 66?
The roof sits in that cavity and goes tight up to the lip of the horizontal panel.

Just checked with my engineer, he does ACT and NSW certifying and he said that lap-sash retractables in the front with lap-sash non retractables in the rear is fine in a convertible.
I also asked him about master-cylinders because the same engineer said they had to be translucent so you could see the fluid level. He said pre-1973 car adr31/33 do not apply so I can stick with the new cast iron tandem master cylinder I fitted (can't leave the single circuit master-cylinder if you do an engine upgrade.
