RRS Under Dash Stealth Brake Booster

Post by 67GT500 »

Hi All. Anyone have any experience with these. I've got a 428FE and little room and need a new booster/master. Looks like a good option.

Thanks

Why do you want to use the RRS tuff? Makes it difficult to work on the left side of the engine with them in but the Standard Booster and Master do fit and work very well.

Leave it stock. Removing the valve cover gives you plenty of room.

Hi guys. Appreciate the thoughts. Valve cover needs import brace removed and it's painful. Clearance from valve cover to master is less than 10mm.
The question really is about if anyone has used one and has any feedback on the quality of the product.

Unfortunately not. Only other option for a remote booster is the GM solution.

It will be more involved to alter it. Remember you have to remove the old one, so the pull down is already done. 10mm is heaps of room. Most BB I have done have had 3mm gap.

The other thing is once it is done, you will not be touching it for years. The present set up has got the car over the 50 year old line already, nothing modified will last that long.

Don't forget to add a couple of grand for the engineers report and brake testing ........

Hi Kerry

The unit is already ADR complied and engineers cert with blue plate is $280.
Thanks for mentioning it though. I didn't even think to check about a mod plate for this.

Cheers
