Re: Project Lime A code.
Astros with the Vintage AC kit, my belt is shorter by the number, given this car is 351 the engine is taller so belt must longer

Re: Project Lime A code.
Very little wrap on the A/C compressor and power steering pump.
Water pump no prob as it gets its drive from the wrap going to the alternator.
I would think that you will get squeal when the air is on and there is also load on the steer.

Seems ok on Astro's, doesnt slip, like I said I have a tri pulley on the water pump, so if it dosent work, I'l run the AC from that, Ive got a 67 ac idler somewhere that needs a bearing I can ,make a bracket of the water pump to mount it and run a short belt just for the AC. My concern is it my chuck the belt off.ozbilt wrote:Very little wrap on the A/C compressor and power steering pump.

Re: Project Lime A code.
On mine, I run one belt around the a/c, then run the PS off the second V on the compressor.
Re: Project Lime A code.
Look at you people showing off your spotless engine bays!!
My PS is above the alternator. My AC is in a similar position to yours but has more belt wrap as it returns directly back to the crank via an idler.
You shouldn't have any issues with the belt being thrown off. I don't know if this is normal or not but my AC compressor drops the idle speed more than putting the AOD into drive from neutral!!!

Astro's has only done test miles thus far. With that amount of wrap they squeal after a good run in my experience.Shaunp wrote:Seems ok on Astro's, doesnt slip, like I said I have a tri pulley on the water pump, so if it dosent work, I'l run the AC from that, Ive got a 67 ac idler somewhere that needs a bearing I can ,make a bracket of the water pump to mount it and run a short belt just for the AC. Next mile stone car is at Exhaust Innovations getting some custom headers made. 1-3/4 primaries equal tuned length, 31" long, and maybe a roll cage! Bryan does most of the T/A cars , Porsche race cars etc https://www.facebook.com/exhaustinnovations/
The pipes will all be separate and not on a single head-plate, the 4 go into a detachable merge collector, so each pipe can be fitted desperately. The AFR head flow figures are based on this size pipe.

Re: Project Lime A code.
The individual pipe setup is as good as it gets IMO. Made life so much easier on the rally cars.
Re: Project Lime A code.
So much room in there.
