Have you tried some Australian Ford sites a well? As the 302 Clevo is an Australian thing.

From memory it was a difference in shaft size or something.

From memory early is 13mm, late 12.5mm. '80 is late so it should be 12.5.

Yeah so I think you can't put an early distributor into a later block or something along those lines.
