Booah on the other forum has a new set of maier springs, shackles & bushes available for sale.
He hasn't got an ad up for them, but he brought over 2 sets when he replaced his springs.

Yeah, I briefly looked at a 4 link system but thought it'd need an engineering certificate, not to mention the expense and I don't want to go down that path.

Hi guys, Dwaynes correct I have a set of the Mike Maier Inc springs extra. I put one set on the Mach 1 and have done 1 day at Baragellos in time trial runs and a top speed run at Racewars, both events and they performed with no issues, no wheel hop and the ride on the road isn't punishing.

I also put new Bilsteins on the rear at the same time.

I'll sell the extra set with shackle kit(rubber) and front Poly bushings for $1000, + shipping to you, I'm in Perth and can deliver local.

I wonder how much a local mob would charge to make narrower springs with the same spring rate.

Maier haven't released them yet (but very close) so no idea on price yet. Don't know how narrow theirs are either.

I'm looking at ordering a pair of the hane narrow springs very soon to put in a friend's next container. I read that he had recently passed away and his son was starting to wind down so keen to get in in case they run out.

Bill Maier was racing these cars when they were new. All of them are good people who I have dealt with over the years & still do.
-
For what they cost + import, I would get them made locally.
Is there someone locally (Sydney-side) that could make Maier style springs?

Yeah, I tried them as well as others. Seems like nobody here makes them afaik so will look for the original.

Thanks

I'm sure if you gave them a set of originals they could reproduce. Have had them add extra leafs before but that's all.

I'm sure they could, I emailed them and they didn't seem too keen about ever producing them. I don't have a set of originals either.

Fair enough... I guess they have enough work. Seems a strange attitude. Although they don't even advertise anything other than truck, 4WD, caravan and trailer.
I guess cars don't use leaf any more.

I guess if I pushed them, walked into the store or they knew it would promote them by me using it in racing it may have had more sway (excuse pun) or as you said, if I had one to show them but some random on the net asking if they could produce some spring with no specs wouldn't be too enticing, lol.

... I'd buy a narrow set locally too if they made them and price is competitive.

They might do it if there were multiple sets.
