Re: Import a boat
Wow it's beautiful.... Hom much did it cost to you.....?
Re: Import a boat
Thanks mass220.
Lets just say you think cheap you will get crap.
This boat is far from cheap. In the yards here you will
be paying between 40-45k. I have found a 17 footer with a
7.6 beam and a 4 cylinder in a yard for 32,00.00
Pictures and words do this boat no justice.
The best offer over 30 will buy this baby.
here are a few more pics........

Re: Import a boat
what a load of HOG.
We've put 900 hours on our outboard in 12 years.
Unbudgeted money spent.
$396 for a CDI module.
700 for a transom replacement (was too cheap gotta do it again..and myself this time)
Other than that, new water pump impeller and sleeve every 2 years...wait you really should do that to an inbred as well.
And the post holers aren't that hard to fix.

Re: Import a boat
Load of Hog you reckon.
Don't mean to upset anybody.
That's was just my opinion.
Can you justify 3 grand just for a diagnostic check
on a 90 hp evenrude e-tech. That's excluding parts.
You can fix yourself I can probably fix it myself.
But for people with very little mechanical knowledge
will pay this sort of money.
Should mention some people think inboards are also crap.
But I personally would much rather be able to go to my auto
parts supplier for engine parts.
Like I said that's just my opinion.......

Re: Import a boat
Yeah I think you're either an inboard lover, or an outboard lover.
We've always had outboards in our family, and they have been very cheap to run, even though they are left for months and months without being touched.
When we used to water ski years ago, the inboard guys spent more time tinkering with their boats than they did skiiing. But that's what happens when you put a car engine in a boat where it wasn't designed to go.
The newer stern drive setups that are built from the ground up to do the job are much nicer.

Re: Import a boat
Tis ok, I was jesting some, you didn't upset me, and hopefully nor me you.
The old inboard/outboard argument always gives me giggles. The use of the E-tec as an example, is possibly a bad one.
For years, the powerheads and gearboxes on the post hole diggers were prohibitively expensive to repair, But with the technology going into the inboards these days, it has brought about a lot of parity.
Fuel Injection, Velvet drives, perfect pass, fly by wire throttles etc, all can be horribly expensive to repair.
I see it this way, you and I can fix our own stuff. Those that don't have the know how are probably being paid enough they can afford to pay us to fix it anyway.
Cheers
Jas
