Re: La to Melbourne import
Depends how and who its shipped with.
Mine from memory took about 9 weeks in the end.
But about 6 of those weeks, it was sitting in a warehouse in Long Beach waiting for the ship to arrive into port after some engine issues - Once that was sorted it only took about 25 days approx to land in Brisbane. Regarless, that was still very quick from what l here.
Melbourne if on the same route, would probably ad another 1 - 2 weeks I guess, depending on how many stop's down the coast before it finally docks into Melboure - remembering you can see the arse end of the world from there!!

(PRAYER) Oh thank you Wild Turkey American Honey & Cola in those small thin bottles, for giving me the strength to act like a half wit, and say stupid things at inappropriate times, semi-anonymously, on a public forum.
Amen.

Re: La to Melbourne import
Buy one that's already in Melbourne.
You can have it as soon as you arrange the cash and a permit to drive it home.

Agree with HappyOne with timing.
Also agree with the others.
Buy one here. Unless you can go there and inspect the
car yourself..............

3 weeks on the boat is normal now. You do need to add in the cleaning, customs and quarantine periods.
I will someday think of something clever to say.
