Re: JONN - Ranchero project
No, not as yet, transport was put back a couple of days which was good as I've been busy cleaning up all of my mustang parts in the garage I use for storage to make room for it.blkpny wrote:Cool, have you got it yet?
Should finish the clean up on the weekend so next week the fun starts with the Ranchero.

Nice one Jonn,
Have you disguised another classic car purchase as a necessity for every day - a classic ute.
Very smart indeed

Re: JONN - Ranchero project
Replacement Battery.
I’m looking for a battery that will fit my battery tray and clamp, looks similar to the tray from my mustang project, thus my hope asking here.
My searches on the internet suggest a 24F series battery, but no success in locating one other than expensive Sta-Ful reproductions.
The key attributes I’m after is a battery that is approximately 260mm long and has hold down ledges on the ends.
Any suggestion in a make and model of a battery that will suit?
thanks

Re: JONN - Ranchero project
Mate it all depends on what make of battery you like , exide, super chargeetc all have a battery to suit. You will find that the ranchero is the same as xk-xp Falcon models which also take the same battery as xr-xy and proberly beyond, also same as most mustangs. Any battery supplier should stock these with the lugs at the bottom for clamping, just make sure the terminals are on the side that suits left to right and also forward or back of the battery if you know what i mean.

Re: JONN - Ranchero project
Hi Scott,
Thanks for the suggestions, so far all of the brands I’ve looked at locally (Melbourne) that are maintenance free (my preference) and the correct dimensions don’t have the hold down ledge on the ends.
Worse case I will go standard (non maintenance free), I have found one of them.
thanks
