8 Pack engine carbi setups?

i don't know much about 8-pack engine carbi setups and i'm finding it hard to find info on em, can someone give me the low down on them with good and bad points??

any helpers are appreciated

Cobra Daytona Coupes had them, so did some of the early sports sedan racing cars here in the late 60's early 70's. Cool set up.

Most US racing cars were confined to a single carb so a 4bbl.

Hard to keep in tune & spendy. But what a bling factor.

I believe there is a Mustang around Sydney with that setup on it.

You've got 4 carbs all having to work perfectly together.
If one (or more) is not fueling the same as the others, your engine will run rough.
Good bling factor, but no way would I do it. If you've got that much money to throw away, go for 4 twin throttle bodies and go injection instead. It will stay in tune.

ooo i see,i'm lovin the bling factor. to tune the carbs to be the same, would it be difficult or just annoying?? do you have any pics of the 4 twin bodies u speak of??

It's not just about how hard they are to tune... they don't stay in tune either, so you have to keep having it done, or keep doing it if you can do it yourself.

Red 66 coupe?? if it is the one I'm thinking of, his car was used as part of the "Bridgestone Eager Maniac" comp in the 90's.

Heard it start up at summernats; sounded sweeeeeet..... love that induction noise!!!

They used to run dual & quad webbers on the old V8 racecars, at Bathurst.
