Black 1969 Mach 1
Well, the hunt is finally over and I am now the proud owner of a 1969 Mach 1. After 8 months of trawling online ads, both here and the US, this one caught my eye a few weeks ago:
I contacted Matt from Shermatt International immediately, the ad had been on his Facebook page for only an hour or two. After a couple of weeks of Matt dealing with the seller, trying to organize an inspection, he was off with trailer in tow to Alabama. My main criteria since I started looking was that the body work had to be absolutely tip top..... and boy did Matt deliver. He was so impressed with the car that he had organized a professional photo shoot before he even had it home, taking an extra couple of days out of his and Sheri's time. So here's a few photos out of the many I've been given, big thanks to Sheri for posing in the freezing cold.
The car is missing much of the Mach 1 interior trim but is at Sun State Mustangs having this remedied while we wait for import approval. The FMX may need a little love as it slips going into third gear and it needs a 9 inch put into it. Matt and Sheri have been putting a lot of time into this and I can not thank them enough for everything they've done and are still doing.:drunk: Cheers to you both. This photo is my pick of the bunch, thankyou also to the photographer who did all of this just for a hot meal:
And Matt, I believe I owe you a beer for this one:
I hope you all enjoy the pics.

Nice one mate.
I wouldn't waste money on a 9inch if the current diff is working fine.

Strange that it doesnt have a 9 inch if it is a m-code. It would sound pretty mean with that setup though. Im normally not a fan of big wheels but they look good on there, hows she ride with the 20's matt? I also like the black on black stripes. The car is sex, im a fan.

Re: Black 1969 Mach 1
@Foresight, car is not an original M Code according to the information I've been given:
Warranty Number: 9F02H152505
Year: 9 1969
Plant: F Dearborn, MI
Body Series: 02 SportsRoof
Engine: H 351 2v V8
Unit: 152505 152505
Miscellaneous Vehicle Data
Body: 63C SportsRoof, Mach 1, Deluxe Interior
Color: T5 Candyapple Red w/Flat Black Hood
Trim: 3WA White Vinyl and White Knitted Vinyl, Mach 1 Luxury
Date: 23A January 23, 1969
D.S.O: 28 Louisville
Axle: 6 3.00:1, Conventional
Trans: X FMX Automatic
I agree with the comment "the car is sex". I've always loved the '69 shape, no matter what the colour, but this one really floats my boat.....

They are definitely big wheels, but I agree they look good.S[_]SPECT wrote:Im not a fan of big rims with rubber bands.. but they certainly suit that car.. sweet ride MachAttack
It might be because the wheels are not too in your face. The colour is subtle... I think that helps.

Great looking car mate & they are some smokin' pics. I think anyone of those would make a sweet looking painting................

Amen.

Re: Black 1969 Mach 1
Thanks all and thanks for the welcome Donoauto, I couldn't find an Introduce Yourself thread. I really like the wheels too, didn't think modern wheels would suit but they look great on the car. Can't see the car passing Vic Roads with them on though. Might need some stockies for that.
