Zinc Phosphate Coating in Australia
Does anyone know of any plating companies in Australia that are capable of replicating the factory plating of hood hinges?
Regards, Jim.
Re: Zinc Phosphate Coating in Australia
They were not plated, so that is easy. But if you wish to do phosphating then that would be as close to bare metal without them rusting.
Blasted finish is not correct either.

So they need to be bare metal and then coated?

Re: Zinc Phosphate Coating in Australia
Are you after concourse or just original looking. If not concourse an easy way to get it close is clean the hinges up & give them a hit of a zinc weld through primer. A judge would probably pick it but the average Joe would think its original. You can get the original type finish done, not sure how cost effective it is for a small batch of parts. I know Ozbilt sends stuff to get done from time to time.

Hi Jim
I don’t know if it’s the same finish as you require, but I just got my rear springs blasted and then given a phosphate and oil finish by Blast-Off in Heidelberg West in Melbourne.

If you are in Sydney, Sean at BossKraft can do the phosphate & oil finish on smaller items (hood hinges no prob).
