Kerry I'm off work until the 27th Feb.
If you need a spare pair of hands for big stuff like that, give me a yell and I will beg the boss for a leave pass

Honestly, fellas this build is getting more odd each time it is updated.
Kerry, if the car had been 'banged up the arse' to adopt a panel beating technical phrase, wouldn't that be reflected in a wrinkle here and there in one's panels?

Rails had been "proofcoated" over deformation, both quarter panels had extensive repairs to what I thought was rust. It would appear that the rails had been hit direct (a hit square on the bumper) & they have a large cross member over the diff that also locates the shock absorbers. That transmitted the hit to the floor under the rear seat, allowing the rails to go forward where they meet the floor.Ausjacko wrote:Honestly, fellas this build is getting more odd each time it is updated.

As I said, no big deal to fix, just pull the rails (at the same time) until the floor drops in.
I also want to say that this car is no worse than a lot of rusty cars I have built over the years. The difference is that not all parts are available & if it was a Mustang fastback (for example), a coupe would be used as a donor lower half. However, Barracuda's only come in one style, so you have to fix what you have, piece by piece.
The car will be fine.

Been a while between drinks ....
Took a few months off with the broken wrist, add the house renos & whatever has turned up in the meantime & yes, time gets away ......
Fabricated & welded in the front upper rocker panel section on the RH side .....
Repaired the mess that was the RH rocker panel .....
Welded in the RH inner A pillar sections .....
Fitted the new outer RH A pillar .....

The floor. Well it turns out that although it has had a tap in the bum, the fronts of the rear rails were in the correct spot.
Turns out the floor is for a 70 Challenger. Investigation revealed that the Challenger is longer than the Cuda (but both called E bodies). So a little sectioning was needed. Floor now fits .......

Very neat, the sectioning will never be seen.
