Re: Hellanor
Without a brown paper bag full of green to grease some wheels your sure are right. Love it but she will need to be chocked down and almost undriveible to shut it up.

Re: Hellanor
Lots of steel wool in the exhaust Boof.

Re: Hellanor
Yes - also some thin alloy plate with a series of small holes it placed between joints in the exhaust system - turns the pipes into long mufflers. Car will run crap though.

Re: Hellanor
Has anyone tried these for noise reduction?

Cool that is what I was describing though a single layer while that solution is a better one - thanks for the link.

That is an excellent piece of kit.ND69 wrote:Has anyone tried these for noise reduction?

great progress Steve,
As boof say's the single plate with restricting holes does work but the car suffers.
As for the bird wire up the bum, I am not a fan but did have some success once and wonder why I bothered.
This is for a customer to help with licensing and he was on a budget and the system had been welded so the flange insert could not be used, so I rolled up the wire as tight as I could and inserted it into the tail pipe. All good, it sprung out and locked in real nice and seemed to quieten the car nicely.
Up to licensing and all went well apart from when the inspector got in for his drive, on start up he gunned the bloody thing and out of the back shot this rolled bullet of f*ckin chicken wire. Now the inspector is grinning like a maniac while he revs the hell out of the car and just seems to be enjoying himself as he takes off. But I have to sort of siddle across the compound and retrieve this roll of wire to dispose of before any of the others see it, stuffed if I know how they did not hear it though.
Anyhow it all went OK but still makes me smile seeing that galvo bullet shot across the compound.
Re: Hellanor
looks pretty smik Steve et.al. A big block BBQ, with friends, sounds like a great idea.
Put a plate in the exhaust, get it passed and then fling the things over the fence into the old lady's yard (there is always one nearby and they love the attention- don't they JBB)
Are you sure about those wheels?
Cheers

Re: Hellanor
Nope...to many distractions, here in God's country...taken hunting back up so I spend a lot of time contract roo shooting. I now also care take cattle stations over school holiday breaks for the farmers to take a break with their families and kids. Heart breaking to see the effects of the drought in central Queensland. Life is good, off to the Birdsville races for a well earned break.

Agree with Justin, very honourable, but we knew that already. When can we come up for a fishing/hunting weekend, I am sure many will want to come
