Wouldn't bother on a road car just take an 1/8 off the spacer tubes and use rubber bushes.

Battery in.. check the signals.. all good..
Turns out I read the wiring diagram correctly when I unpicked the old column plug.

Rolled out of the garage and stopped.. (happy with that).
Not much pedal though.. might need to bleed them again.

In desperate need of a wash...

Does anyone know, (or have access to measure) the offset of the pin from the centreline of the shaft. (on a 67)
For drums its a straightline.. but from what I've seen the boosted pin is offset.. I need to know by how much..
I already know that its 35mm shorter in length (thanks Rick).. but Im not sure of the offset.

Turns out I need to make one for my aftermarket jobbie.. (Im not happy with the setup they provided)

If you are talking about the brake pedal, then you must change it to one that bolts into the top hole of your pedal mount, not the hole that is lower with the bushes in it.

Thanks Kerry, but Im talking about the booster...
I've seen the input shafts have an offset like below..

I've switched to the disc pedal, and the booster shaft is 35mm shorter to put the pedal at the correct height..
and checking the pedal against the input shaft, at full travel the pin is actually below the input shaft...
So the offset would make the shaft travel down into alignment with booster, rather than trying to push up at the lower end of pedal travel.

Going by this pic.. it looks to me that the offset is exactly that.. to have the pin below the shaft at full travel..
Meaning when released.. the input shaft is actually raised above the centreline

I always thought the offset was only on the 70 model. Could be wrong on that one.

Based on the info I found.. the pin on the 70 pedal is 1/2" higher and uses a straight input shaft.. 67-69 use the offset on the booster

All this trouble with different pedals I'm glad when I converted mine to RHD with an XB setup for clutch and brake, and not try and reuse the mustang stuff.

Actually it is also no issue if you use the correct Mustang stuff, it is readily available. There is no need to modify anything as it was, & still is, a bolt up deal.

Thats exactly right.. by not using a stock mustang booster I hosed myself.. everything after that was a compromise to make it work..

Yay.. we have the power.. power brakes that is

After trying the dodgy offset adapter that came with the 'conversion' booster.. that uses the orginal drum pedal.. I wasnt happy with the feel, and lack of pedal..yeah it stopped.. but the pedal was virtually to the floor..

So I swapped to the correct disc pedal, but had to make the rod end as the one on the booster wouldnt have fit..
But dumbass just assumed that the shafts would be the same length.. and made it to match the drum pedal shaft..
Thats fine, if I was using the drum pedal.. the disc pedal, along with being mounted higher in the pedal box, is also forward of the drum mount point.
This has the effect of placing the pedal squarely at knee height (well not quite)..

plan B..
Took the pieces I had, and a drawing of what I wanted to a fab shop to have a better rod end made... was told it would be ready the next day.. sweet.
Well, after five weeks of excuses as to why it still wasnt done.. I cracked the shits and decided a dodgy bros special was in order.

plan C...
Took these two pieces to an unnamed exhaust shop in Perth..

Bit of slicing.. melting and spraying.. turned them into this..

Fitted back on the booster.. test drive.. biggest fkn grin eva !

Honestly, to lose a whole year, over a brake and steering upgrade...
Now that its done.. im really happy with the result.. but I can now REALLY appreciate the saying.. "Factory Fits"

Big thanks to Exhausted for doing the mig work.. (I gotta get me one of them -- hint hint sweety, if you're reading this)
