Top build. Would be intersting to see the build cost to paint stage to compare it against a genuine fastback to the same stage..

i'd say by the end of the build the cost would be the equivalent to an average fastback not restored so its not cheap but i know that i will have a solid car in the end. if u did the work urself it would be alot cheaper the dynacorn panels all up are over 10k and that doesn't include the rhd conversion parts but from what the panel beater tells me the conversion was a fairly smooth excercise and was his first attempt (although he specialises in mustangs). we couldnt find much info on any other conversions done but did find one place in america that were starting to do it so we just ordered all the fastback panels and prayed they'd fit. I think Hughie (panel beater at sixties rust) has done a fantastic job so far can't believe how different it looks and can't wait to start trial fitting it.

been busy cleaning up old parts off the car, got the diff overhauled cleaned up the diff housing and got a drain and fill plug put on then got it painted come up very nicely. started painting up alot of the under body parts with this stuff the panel beater gave me think it may be por-15 comes up very glossy and feels like it would never come off.

Something to do before you instal the diff. Weld a short section of pipe around the drain plug head in the area circled. The length is enough to cover the head of the drain plug masking it from being hit & ripping it out, if the rear end happens to bottom out.

Anyone got any ideas for the bonnett hinges for this car.
The original hinges are pretty well stuffed but the billet hinges are too dear.
Any other thoughts?

If you are running a fiberglass hood, then a good set of (correct finish) stock hinges with the lightweight springs would be the go. You then also have a prop rod to hold the hood off your head as the stronger springs will bend the fiberglass.

I have both if you want them (early & later Shelby lightweight springs).

PM me if you want to know more. I will be back in Australia around the 6th July.

finally got the body back from the shop so i can begin fitting the engine and drivetrain(almost two years from getting the car) but i think the results are worth it. The side scoops definately look the goods.

the long time frame has been frustrating but i like to think the esults have been worth it, still waiting to get the motor back(shop has had it for a year) then rebuild the gearbox. Have to have the car back at the body shop in 6-8 months to get painted and have a heap of work to go, hoping to have car complete in 12-18 months
