Re: Fairstang paint
Cant help myself its a bit cold to paint , but i love practicing. Waiting for more of my Black paint mix to arrive or should i say part of the recipe. And i have been waisting my time trying to get a warped stretched piece of crap bonnet straight. Im getting a new one from the states but i wont let that slow me down , this one will do for now. This is painted in the second colour that will include the stripes and parts of the interior , dash and upper quarter trims. Took the pics straight off the gun while still wet so you can see what it would look like with clear on. When i get the black i am going to experiment with different stripe options which COULD get crazy.

Re: Fairstang paint
Nah its my 2nd colour for the stripes. Im waiting for more black like in the previous body pics to be mixedup , i only had enough to do the 1 1/2 coats and we had to order more black base from the east because K&H paint factory burned down. Its all Acrylichybrid wrote:Love the colour. Did you say that's black? Looks very charcoal-ish.

The paint is proberly there now , but its cold and raining all week , so will just have to hang out for some spring weather unless we get another run of warm days before hand.

Re: Fairstang paint
The paint and colour is great , the panel work is crap. The scoop is pulling the bonnet skin partly into shape and the rest is built up with spray putty. It is still not up to black paint quality , but i could keep building it up and sanding untill it is . Problem is because it is flexing so much , the slightest pressure with a sander or longboard flexes the skin down , i have tried to pack and bent the supports but In the end , it is a crap bonnet and i wont be happy with it , so i will be getting a new one. Could say it is US build Quality. ![Very Happy :-D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
