Your most likely right - Though you can check if you get a light and look into the hole in the gearbox where the cable goes - you should be able to count the teeth attached on the output shaft.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

You could lower with OD but you need to be careful of not making 1st redundant. 302 Fox body cars with T5 ran a 3.7 I think

Yeah you want the T5 with the 2.95 first gear.
In saying that I have 3.55 rears with a T5 3.35 first gear, and normal driving it's fine. Gunning it, 1st gear is useless.

Yeah great on the freeway. I used to drive it to work most days and the speed limit was 100, was about 1900rpm I think, can't quite remember exactly.
It's fine on the street too, first gear is fine. It's just useless if you full throttle it on take off. Normal driving no dramas.
If you have a 2.95 first T5 it would be perfect.

Wes-t = axle model - 2.75, 2 pinion open diff

9LA = date code - '69, December, 1st week

2.75 = ratio obviously

9 = 9 inch

951A = this should be the plat code but can't find this code anywhere

all in and done 3;25 was the right choice 3.55 would have been too low as it is 1st want to light up with no encouragement off the mark
