Towards the end of last year I finally got back into it, which started with biting the bullet and sending it in to a shop to get the mechanicals finished (eg tranny lines), where a hoist made for the job done in half the time, the last bit of wiring sorted and brake lines made and fitted.

This finally meant after nearly 4 years the car now ran (note past tence!) for the first time ;) sounded great as the was not much exhaust of the manifolds 8O

Since the car returned home it has proceed to leak like a sieve, and cease to start but thats another story......

Also realised ID tag had at least three different coats of paint on it, so spent the extra coin, for the detail of a new one from Marti Auto Works.

Despite being marked as 'do not bend' and being triple wrapped some tosser in the US postal service felt the need to feel it out in the giant packaging and bend it !!

Luckily I managed to bend it back - not perfect but it will have to do....

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Original (pro-touring style) paint was to be silver, but every time I opened a magazine it seemed there was another silver one !!

Wanting something a little different but in keeping with original theme, on a car that numbered in the millions is not easy !!

This is my current thinking :fap: For those that dont recognise it, it was a variation in the 1000 black and gold Hertz rent-a-cars (a few hundred ? were delivered in white and also red with the Hertz gold stripes)

Leaks havent been investigated but appear to be both oil and tranny fluid...

Hey Moe

had technical difficulties trying to get the above image onto and then from photobucket, so missed your response in drafting :)

Always happy to have you drop in !! Not 100% on weekend plans but I will PM you my number so you can call when you are near.... but at this stage I think I should be there :)

Thanks guys - I think their may have even been some blue ones (even rarer?)

As I drive the highway daily and have a long gravel drive, I figure the white will be the easiest to maintain, and add a bit of bulk visually :)

Yes there were some blue/gold ones, there is a replica raced here in Perth.
That white/gold looks much nicer though imo.
