The car that is my avatar has a Paxton on it & that 5.0 gets around 22-4 miles per gallon around town, better on the highway.

Best bang for the buck in my view. I have bought Paxton kits many times & they are so reliable.

The Novi is the big boy, for daily use a small Paxton would be all you need.

Had a Paxton on a 5.0 EFI motor in my AC Cobra. Was great.
Car ran like a stocker - basically it was - and would be no probs as a daily driver.

Instantly add 100HP using one of Paxton's entry level kits. 5-6 lbs boost.

Cheers,
Frank.

What sort of hp was it packing frank? Supercharged efi seems to be the best way to build a serious street motor. Seems a bit excessive but I think it'd be a lot of fun :woohoo:

Lee, it was a stock 5.0 HO EFI motor from an 1986 Mustang.
Stock was good for about 220HP - with the Paxton about 320HP.

Plenty in a 1000kg car.

Like I said, behaved like a stock car, so ideal for a daily driver.

Frank.

The car in my avatar is a daily driver, but with blowers you can also go Kenny Bell etc.

One of the guys in the Brisbane club as a paxton on a 302 and has had some issues with the ceramic oils breaking, causing oil to blown into the carb. There was a theroy it was due backfiring but not sure. Maybe this unit has it's own problem.

Kerry do they normall hold together ok. I was thinking of one but have gone of them due to this issue.

They shouldn't backfire really, means the carb is too lean when you get on it, or crossfireing. But it is a worry. I was kind of hoping to throw my parts bin special engine together with stuff I have lieing around, which in it's self would be a tidy 289, drive it for a while sort the car then bolt up a paxton, but not so sure now. They look so cool though with that polished carb box, old school stuff, that really me. I want my car to be kind of a late 60s/early 70's time capsul hotrod , period stickers on the rear window etc etc. Want to look like someone went to Dunton Ford Santa Anna picked up a new 67 deluxe A code coupe and then went and fitted period type wheels, and other mods, shifter, engine mods etc,etc Paxton is right up there I reckon.
