I've ordered a Drake one (hoping its the same as the Carpenter one) along with a Mat for the trunk.
If it's no good, I'll get one from Harrys if I need one.

Re: Exhaust smell
The Drake one is NOT the same as the Carpenter one.

Re: Exhaust smell
We thought that for the door seals too, and the Drake ones ended up being DC ones with a Drake sticker stuck over the DC sticker.ozbilt wrote:The Drake one is NOT the same as the Carpenter one.
The first Drake ones I bought were definitely different and must have been from the batch that many people complained about.
Re: Exhaust smell
Kerry's right. Drake use a different supplier.
I hunted down Harry's as he only sells the DC ones and no one else could assure me of what I would get. For the cost of the seal, it's not worth the headache of redoing it again.

Re: Exhaust smell
Maybe for the trunk seals, but the door seals (the second lot I bought) were actually DC seals.Keegan wrote:Kerry's right. Drake use a different supplier.

There is a thread on here somewhere and I took a photo of it all. Mark from Capital Classics said they were the same and I didn't believe him until I saw it myself.
I guess I will find out when the seal arrives anyway. If it's as hard as my existing one I won't use it. That would go for the DC one too.
Re: Exhaust smell
It appears that my trunk has a 1/2" gap between the seal and chassis
So I'm going to adjust the latch as good as I can and see how that goes. Cleaning it up a bit and painting it fresh first.

Re: Exhaust smell
Looks like it's fixed!
Re: Exhaust smell
That is a good outcome, no smell and no cost.
Re: Exhaust smell
Nice work Hybrid, beer time then.
