These are a really good idea and as Hybrid said in another thread, you can check on where your service person takes your car- and how fast they drove/are driving.

The more sophisticated of you (read with an electric fuel pump) can link the relay into the tracker such that you can send it a signal to turn it off if you need.

As Hybrid said, the SIM costs are interesting as this concept still blows the minds of the hone companies. The amount of data this thing sends is miniscule.

Jeff, nice work on keeping this going. I wish I had your skills.

Oh, should have mentioned, don't stop outside a middle-eastern embassy while you are testing this thing hooked using a battery on the front seat, the sender on the dash while talking to Hybrid as he monitors the server in Sydney - badness happens.

hey guys,

If a group buys on the cards - depending on the cost - you can count me in for a unit or two.

Will they work in parallel with dash cams - most of the new units record stacks of info - but not locations

Cheers and Beers

Thanks Jacko... I love mucking around with this stuff when I get the time. Truth be known - I'm really doing all this work because I want it working for my car... but everyone else gets to benefit

BTW, here's the vid of me shutting my car off via SMS. Soon I'm hoping to be able to do the same thing from the website. I'm probably half way there now.
