Awww man that pipe that bolts to the bottom is such a pita!!!!
I'll take it to a brake place rather than go through that again.
I think we have the same calliper on the front and I have the Summit racing (SSBC on the calliper) kit on the back.

Your other option is to put a crapload of rags under/around it and try to bleed it in situ.
You need to get the lines out of the way, then use some hose fittings (new masters often come with them) and short clear hose straight back into the reservoir.
The idea is that the lines are short enough that when you push the piston in, the air bubbles get pushed all the way though, then when the piston returns only fluid is pulled back in.
It takes more pumps than you would think to get all the air out. Having watched this happen, I understand why I couldn't get it to bleed properly using a vacuum pump on the nipples and gravity.

I just rechecked the box. No tubes
I might take it down to the local garage and get them to do it.

This is what I'm talking about:
Re: I think I need a new master cylinder which brand?
I just tried looking on ebay for a kit. No luck. I might get the Mrs involved in some pumping tomorrow.
Re: I think I need a new master cylinder which brand?
I managed to do it without those fittings, but it was f'in messy and very hard to get it all to seal well enough.
You could probably use old flare nuts if you have any the right size and just poke the hose inside it.

You might be able to use this one:
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... mendations
If those nipples will push into the inner flares of the master.

If I don't have much luck tomorrow I'll order one of those.
Re: I think I need a new master cylinder which brand?
Have you tried to gravity bleed it? If you want to do it insitue just by some normal bleed nipples and put hose on them no big deal. Is the cylinder the same bore size?

Previous page he said he gravity bled and also used a self bleed kit.
I did both on mine too and nothing worked until the master was bench bled first.

Ive never bench bleed one in 32 years and never had an issue. Worth case I crack the lines at the master and stick my thumb over the hole.

Did the old fashioned two person bleed this morning and the pedal has come up nice and firm.
Re: I think I need a new master cylinder which brand?
That's essentially the same thing. It's just easier to do it on the bench before hand and know all the air is gone as you can see it.Shaunp wrote:Ive never bench bleed one in 32 years and never had an issue. Worth case I crack the lines at the master and stick my thumb over the hole.

Still sticking
Two dud boosters in a row. This one is fine until the engine bay gets hot. It is ok until after the first stop and then it acts up.

You definitely have the lines going to the right area?
The drum side normally has a non-return valve to keep some pressure in the line.
That's no good for a disc.
