Yeah I doubt it would be sticky injectors, because the test light would still light up if the injectors are sticking.
If a test light doesn't work, the ECU isn't commanding it.

I would try to find which wire is the signal from the TFI to the ECU to make sure the ECU is seeing a signal.

Thats about where i am up to now i have the wiring diagram, i will trace some wires and run temporary ones to see if it starts. Its time consuming and im just about out of time. I need to do firebreaks and slashing mine and my neighbours before end of Sept, preparing for school holidays in 2 more days and get stuff together for camping trip, then not long after i get back i have to prepare my property for my 50th birthday party combined with my eldest daughters 30th with up to 150 people at my place.
Very frustrating, my only goal was to wire up fuel pump and get fuel to the motor, fill all the oils and fluids, and i thought just start the bloody thing and check over for leaks.

You are 100% sure there's no smartlock ???
Only reason I ask is that an injector cut is a smartlock function.

Yes Ants 100% its from a 92 NC Fairlane i drove for 2 years, and i then test fitted to the Mustang while still LHD drove around my block a few times then stripped down for restoration. Latest research while looking for another one to try, i found the ECU number also matches a NC fairlane. In 93 the EB 2 and NC 2 came out with smartlock and thermo fans controlled by the ECU. Mine had a fluid coupling fan like previous XF XE. Unless some one swapped it out when i wasn't looking over the past 6 years. haha! Out of interest with the smart lock injector cut out would it cut out spark as well?

From memory smartlock didn't control spark, only injection through the ECU and crank signal through a relay in the BCM.
If you have power from the injector relay through to the ECU via the injectors and the ECU injector drivers aren't pulling the injectors to earth but the motor runs with fuel poured into the manifold I'd be thinking the ECU is toast.
Don't know about WA but in Sydney there's a place called AFI. (Australian Fuel Injection) they can test an ECU for I think around $80.
If it tests faulty and you buy a reco unit off them they don't charge for the test.

It's not much of a diagram really.

1) Earth cable from battery to chassis. Make sure the join is nice and clean.
2) Same size earth cable from chassis to engine.
3) Positive battery cable from battery to starter
4) Smaller cable from battery or starter to your main power distribution block.
5) The charge wire for your alternator can also run to the starter wire

Haha! i better add a bit more to "YOUR" thread. 😄 You can use one of these to join cables through the firewall, if you have a remote starter solenoid as standard the cable from the boot goes to that. If you have the solenoid attached to the starter motor run the cable from boot straight to that.

I have one of these busbars attached to engine bay apron, each application is different depending if you have a std motor set up or modified.
My cable from the boot runs to my EB 5.0l efi starter solenoid on LHS, then another battery cable from the solenoid around to this connector rhs apron where all my fuesable links and ignition wiring is. The cable running from one side of the car to the other is std wiring set up on EB-EF Falcon V8 and probably AU onwards.

Where does the regulator get wired in?

None of that should change from stock.
All you're doing is changing where the battery connection comes from.
So normally it would come from the battery and run straight to the external starter solenoid.
If you're keeping that, just run the wire from the battery in the boot straight to the solenoid.

I changed over to a higher amp single wire alternator, so didn't have to worry about all that regulator stuff. Also changed to a starter with built-in solenoid.
