Some pictures from Saturday ......
Dash is cleco'd in place using the self tapping screw holes that attach the trim mouldings. Drilling both panels here so we can get the rivnuts in the right spot.
Setting the rivnuts. Need to take more pictures. George and I were talking a lot about different points on the car and forgot to take more pictures. Dash is in there now held in place by the machine screws into the rivnuts.
Hopefully George can take a picture of the completed instillation.

In a national TC meeting so nows a good time to update. Thanks to Kerry who has taken the time to assist me with this mod. BEST mod ever. Also hole punches and rivnuts are a must for any restoration. They are the best tools ever.
Heres some pics. Ive slowly played with this when i can..usually around midnight.
What was a shitfight of tangled cables running from 1 side to another and attached somewhere along the dash has now turned into an organised mess mounted on clips etc. Still a bit messy and could do alot better but i dont have the time to make it perfect and not really an issue. Its still structured and organised. Tagged/labelled everything keeping to a colour standard. I have a deadline and want to get driving again.
Very happy with the change. I literally have nothing relying on or routed / attached to the dash as far as wiring goes. Nice and clean. So should i want to remove (unlikely once done) its simple and noninvasive.
I do have some future mods i want to do that involve additional wiring but ill worry about that later as i dontknow where ill mount stuff.
Made a few last min changes. Decided NOT to put my gauges in the console but instead the legend will help with an idea that ill share later if it works out.
Hmm thats pretty much it.
Ill get more pics as we progress. My phone is always flat when i want to take pics!

Once im up and running again.. ill look at installing...finally.. my snow perf safe injection kit. This is mounted in the engine bay..but more wiring!!

I just found this photo of a removable dash conversion on the earlier 65-66's by Shaun (Bosskraft).
It's the same line cut line I was thinking of:

Yes that would work, but that cut line is more complicated on a 67/8
