Hi all - a little late to the party - but there is some good info on starters here...

Thanks davegriffin, that clears the issue up ...... :like:

Doug, you got an auto starter, but as the above PDF explains, you also now have a 157t flywheel.

Yes, Doug, 20mm off the drive shaft & would have been done in a weekend (actually one day if you were trying) easily.

Unfortunately bowls, bingo, coffee/tea & talking of the "old days" got in the way ........ :bingo:

Excellent info Dave, explains it all well and I'm sure it will benefit a few.

Looks like MrsOzbilt now has a spare starter motor for the Mach ;)

...And needs a C4 with all necessary hardware. I reckon Oz would throw in the starter if it means getting the C4 off his workshop floor!

Would probably fit mine then, if it would work with 4sp manual with RRS Rack and Pinion

If you have the 157t flywheel, then yes it will fit.

I could have sworn that you said Carol already runs one of these starters.

One of us is losing it :loopy:

Took the car for a run this morning. Smokes em in 1st & 2nd, just a twerp in 3rd. Probably a tired 289 ....... :poke:

Shifts nicely & the cable clutch is really nice. Almost like driving my avatar again (it has an MD setup as well ...... )

Should I order some rear tyres for you Doug? Yours seem to be down in tread now ....... ;)

Yes thanks Kerry. Make it 4 tyres. Some nice sticky 225/50x16's. Should go well on a set of Torque Thrust II's.
