Moe I see you're offloading some of your Simmons on the other sight. What happened? Is the love affair over? :poke:

Have some 2 piece rims to go on.... sought some advice from the US of A in making these rims a little different. May have some tyres for them shortly.

If the hustlers sell, cool. If the Simmons sell, ah well, until the next set presents itself (think Saleen, if you know what I mean)......

Well it seems Oz is knee deep in gyprock setting cement etc, so time for an update with what I have. Limited by a pretty ordinary phone camera :poke:

Imagine how fast the clothes would dry on that while cruising down the freeway.

Last lot of pics before I take it for a run & get the alignment checked tomorrow ......

Had to pull the front seats out to fit the shifter boot (so I could get the carpet out of the way) .......

Apparently the iPhone 6 has a pretty good camera Oz :-)
The shifter looks like it belongs in there mate.
Obviously looking forward to the old girl getting aligned (sorry, checked) and given the all clear for the drive home. The wife's Mazda is getting used to living in the garage again!

Have to start thinking of a new Avatar. Speaking of which, Pinto Pete's been a bit slack!

Something like that...
The fact is though, two old farts who know what they are doing can spend half the time doing as said, and still get the job done a shitload quicker than us mere mortals!

Picked up the coupe this evening. She drives really nice with the new suspension setup, and the T5 is great. Shifter is spot on for the street, and the cable operated clutch has a great feel... Certainly not too heavy.
I'm stoked with the diff ratio (3.25:1), and the 0.63 OD means she purrs on the freeway effortlessly on around 2 grand at 70mph. Drop it back to 4th and giddy-up!
Just got a bit of a vibration above about 65mph, which we suspect is a drive shaft balance issue. It was shortened, fitted with new uni's and balanced but perhaps not well enough. Oz suggested we rotate it 180 deg in the diff just to see if that helps.

Drive shaft issue sorted out. Turns out that somewhere along the line I ended up with a rear uni joint that was slightly incompatible with the diff yoke. Seems there is a few different yoke sizes, and the one I have could actually be from a 9", but not quite sure. Anyways, got that sorted out with the correct uni and a new set of u-bolts to suit, and learned a bit during the process.
