Update time, exhaust done, the local exhaust job did a great job Im very happy. They had to re-do the trans crossmember, they just modified an old falcon V8 one that I had. There is not much room in there with the 4 speed auto but they managed to tuck it in nicely and put in some heat shields for the trans wiring and shifter cable. I then took it to the local windscreen joint and got them to install the screen that I got from CustomMustangs, screen went in with no dramas. Then I thought I would try to hook up the power steering pump to the rack, a quick trip to the enzed man in Traralgon, he made up a new high pressure hose for me as the previous "experts" had stuffed the hose. Hooked it up and fuck me the fuckin useless RRS rack leaks like a sieve, fluid pissed out everywhere but most is coming from the right hand end cap. Fuck. I bought the useless prick of a thing about 5 or 6 years ago and it the first time its been hooked up so maybe some seals inside have dried up. I took it for a quick drive around the driveway and it now has the turning circle of a fuckin bus. If I hadnt spent so much money on the fuckin thing I would rip it out and go back to a stock set up.

I think Kerry has often warned about the turning circle of the racks.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hopefully it's an easy/quick fix for you.

Feel your pain Tim. I'd like to say some of those things about my car in general but stick at it mate. I hope it works out.

RRS do warn of "turning circle increase" if you havnt fitted their struts. Even with the struts though I think there is a bit of an increase.

Got me more worried now Tim, did you buy the RRS new? mines almost 3 years old now and hasnt had fluid in it. Unlike you i had no joy with Enzed here, been there 3 times for the hoses and they never had the right fittings. Mine is now made up of bits and pieces of new and old hoses and pipes and has cost almost as much as if i bought the new $350 RRS shiney braided hoses of instead.
So you pretty much went the same way with the trans crossmember as me, looks alot better imo, and gets the pipes up higher so you can bring the body down lower.

Yep I copied your idea with the trans crossmember. I bought my rack new about 5 or 6 years ago, a friend of mine bought one at the same time and he said his blew the ends off the rack unit when he hooked the pump up to it, his was replaced with a new one, i just emailed RRS so i will see how i go, I dont expect it to be covered by warranty, but hopefully they can help out and fix the fucking thing.

The TCP rack is the only one that goes close to the original turning circle with stock type suspension arms. The early TCP were useless in the turning circle, but that was probably the first 12 months of production. Most people do not even notice the difference now days.

However I agree, flog the thing & put a box back in (or worst case, get a TCP R&P).

When yours is going, bring it to my place, I will do a circle in the paddock & we can then see how you car goes. Luckily, it is a big paddock ...... ;)
